Farmers' Market Szn!

I have to share with you all that I sold out at my FIFTH farmers market stand.

I had no plans on going into the pastry side of the field and only started baking during the pandemic but everything has been going so well and I have SO much fun baking. This summer I’ve shared that I hosting my first in-person pop-up at The Congregation Detroit until October. It has been so satisfying baking and meeting so many different people who have been following my journey from the beginning or just stumble across my table. The market has been a great way for me to practice many new recipes I’ve been writing and sharing my cooking beyond social media. If you’re here because you’ve come to see me at the market- THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Pictured above were some of my popular items this month.

Top left: the Brown Butter Babe- the cookie that started all of this! It’s a chocolate chip cookie with chocolate overload, browned butter, sea salt, local eggs, and expensive vanilla.

Top right: Butter pecan chocolate chip. My new favorite! There’s brown butter, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate chunks, and pecans.

Bottom left: The Pink Lady- I love this cookie! It’s a butter-nut sugar cookie with cream cheese buttercream and dried rose petals. This cookie will be on sale all October.

Bottom right: A lemon chiffon cupcake with lemon curd and mascarpone buttercream.

I’ve been asked if you can make purchases outside of my pop-up sales. Currently, I am only selling through pop-up sales and event & corporate commissions. I’d love to bake pastries for your parties, showers, clients/employees, and unique gift-giving! Be on the lookout for Homegirl Kitchen Pastry Boxes coming for Fall and the holidays! I’ll be sharing more details and shipping options later this month!

In the meantime, catch me from 4 until 8 pm at The Congregation Detroit! Be sure to arrive early if you have your heart set on something specific, it’s been so hard keeping everything stocked. You all have really been supporting me and it’s so fun to experience.
